Asian American families get access restored as judge strikes down Trump’s 75-country visa ban
A federal judge in Manhattan vacated the immigrant visa suspension covering 75 countries, finding that consular officers had been told to reject applicants on nationality alone. Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Thailand are some Asian countries included in the list.
For families whose cases have sat since January, the ruling wipes out rejections that rested only on the policy. However, the State Department said vetting will continue, and the judge has given both sides until next month.

North Korea fired short-range ballistic missiles toward its eastern waters a day after Kim Jong Un’s sister criticized a scaled-back U.S.-South Korea drill. Trump expects a meeting this year, though Pyongyang may have little reason to rush.
Infants, toddlers among 583 remains recovered from Sri Lanka mass grave
Excavators near Jaffna finished a 110-day dig and recovered 583 sets of remains, some believed to be infants and toddlers. Nearly three decades after a soldier’s allegation, investigators have yet to identify the dead or tie them to the killings he described.
